| | Visitor experiences with Southleigh Manor Holiday ClubDave & Sue A pleasant and well kept site, within good striking distance of local tourist attractions. Shower and toilet facilities were clean and well maintained. The main touring field is slightly sloping, and for some bizarre reason, the pitches are laid out across the slope so that you have to level sideways.
The site is right under the final approach path for the airport, and the planes fly over low enough for you to be able to wave at the pilot. We didn't find it particularly intrusive, though perhaps more nervous newcomers might find the idea of being seen from above offputting. Other than that, the site has good privacy.
I'd give it five stars but for the pricing structure. £20ish per night seems reasonable enough for a touring pitch, but once you load it up with extra charges, that can easily rise to over £30. Serviced pitches (electric hook-up), awnings, children, extra adults and dogs all incur additional charges, and not at particularly cheap rates either.
At the time of our visit, there was unsecured Wi-Fi available if we approached the house, but the owners seemed to take a dim view of us using it and I wouldn't be surprised if they've put a password on it since. There's an Internet PC inside the house that's available for rental, but we found it incredibly slow, and once again, the rates weren't cheap. Don't rely on mobile broadband working on the site. We couldn't get a decent connection out of either O2 or 3. Jake & Sharron Have day visited once which made Sharron & myself want to go back, we did & have booked again for 2010. Lovely site nice log cabins to. If you like cornwall cant think of a much nicer place to stay.
