Visitor experiences with Cambridge Outdoor ClubDuncan Heenan Rob Candlish's comments here should be read in the context of knowing that, following thr rejection of his membership application he has been convicted of criminal damage to members' property, and a series of offences relating to extreme and child pornography.
It seems therefore that COC's refusal to grant him membership was a piece of wise judgement, and should reassure members. James F has proffered the opinion below that it's "Sad to see negative and divisive posts here, and elsewhere, doing nothing to promote and enhance views of Naturists and the Naturist community".
Hardly surprising to see them about this club though when its committee will happily turn down applications for membership from single people (like me) who are already members of other far better known and longer established clubs (like me!) and simply wanted to join mainly to assist them in the winter with their grounds maintenance programme. That is rather divisive behaviour in its own right.
The way they messed me about over trial visits was unbelievable. I find it hard to comprehend that no members of any sun club's committee should be available to admit me on Sunday 22 July 2007 (one of my chosen trial visit dates), yet I was told this was the case at less than 24 hours notice and only found the phone message by accident after I'd got home from a superb day at Spielplatz.
Not a place I'd recommend to anyone. Little more than a bunch of discriminatory snobs. James F I too had a visit a short while ago and found the club busy and lively. I found everyone I met friendly and helpful but that's not uncommon in the Naturist community.
Sad to see negative and divisive posts here, and elsewhere, doing nothing to promote and enhance views of Naturists and the Naturist community but I guess you get "those" sorts of folks everywhere :-( Nigel L Had a lovely weekend there a few weeks back and it was very busy.
Many folks from other clubs where there.
Lot's of interesting people to talk to yet somehow peaceful.
Really enjoyed it and will be back again as soon as I can manage it.
Clubhouse has had work done it and was really smart.
Pool was in the 80s which was great. | | A naturist campsite nearby:Naturism and travel links for Great Britain |
